A Harvest Dinner to Fund Local Community Outreach Programs

Now in its 10th year, the Westside Farmers’ Market brings incredible, locally-sourced food to Ann Arbor’s Westside every Thursday afternoon during the summer. Zingerman’s Roadhouse is proudly supporting the market with a celebratory fall harvest dinner featuring Westside Farmers’ Market vendors to raise funds for three new Market outreach programs in 2016:

  • School to Market program in collaboration with Agrarian Adventure
  • Senior Community transportation to the Market
  • Educational Market group tours

The vision for these three programs is to increase market access and awareness throughout the Westside community while improving the Westside Farmers’ Market long-term sustainability. Your support will help make this vision become a reality.

James Beard award-winning Chef Alex Young has created a menu featuring the beautifully grown produce and sustainably raised meats from Westside’s vendors. The meal will also feature Laurentide wine pairings, one of our favorite vendors from Leelanau, Michigan. We invite you to enjoy the peak flavors of the season at this fundraising dinner, and we look forward to seeing you each week at the market!

  • New Sandwich of the Month at the Zingerman’s Deli: Jere’s M.O.B., Roast beef enrobed in melted cheddar and surrounded by pockets spring loaded with fresh ground horseradish. Mayonnaise and tomato on sourdough make this a quintessential quintet of flavor.

  • Get over the hump! Wednesdays are special at the Zingerman’s Creamery. If you buy any two Zingerman’s Gelato, you’ll get a third FREE! Who can argue with free?
  • Did you know the Westside Farmers’ Market is dog-friendly? Did you know the WSFM accepts Food Assistance programs like SNAP, EBT, Bridge Card, and Food Stamps? Did you know that San Street is there with their delicious Korean street food? Every Thursday, 3p-7p at the Zingerman’s Roadhouse! 30-40 vendors every week featuring fresh produce, meat, baked goods, and much, much more! Come on by!

  •  Fridays and Saturdays at the Zingerman’s Bakehouse also mean Special Bakes, limited-edition loaves available for just a weekend. This weekend it’s Blueberry Buckle! A buckle is an American coffeecake that dates back to colonial times. Our sweet and moist version has a bounty of wild blueberries, sweet butter, a touch of orange and cinnamon, and is topped off with a remarkable butter-crumble crust. These usually go pretty fast, so call 734-761-7255 to reserve yours! Thursday through Sunday only!

The 2013 season marks the 7th year of the Westside Farmers Market (WSFM) in the Zingerman’s Roadhouse parking lot every Thursday, 3 p.m. – 7 p.m., during the summer beginning in June. The market brings fresh fruits, vegetables, hand made crafts, fresh-cut flowers, local musi- cians and the community together.
