Tree Town Blend: a fantastically flavorful cup of coffee that does the town proud

Looking for a good coffee to perk up your mornings this month? Something to mark the season, welcome fall, sip while you watch some football? The Coffee Company crew has created a blend that’s totally caught my attention. The 2024 “vintage” of our annual, only available in the autumn, Tree Town Blend is particularly terrific.

“Tree Town,” as many of you know, is the long-standing nickname for Ann Arbor. Founded in 1824, the town was named for the wives—both named Ann—of the village’s founders and the many stands of burr oak trees. Until the arrival of Europeans, most of this part of the world—originally home to the Ojibwe people—would have been fully forested. The Tree Town Blend is a celebration of that beauty.

Like the town for which it’s named, this blend is a medium roast that’s marvelously well-rounded with great personality. The blend is made of beans from Brazil, Guatemala, and Burundi. The crew at the Coffee Company describes the flavor as “complex and juicy, with notes of caramel, stone fruit, and cocoa.” I taste a hint of nuttiness as well. I highly recommend it in a Syphon brew and in the Clever as well! Both are light and cocoa-y—to my taste, an awesome afternoon coffee! It’s indeed fantastic as an espresso—worth driving over that way just to experience a taste!

The 2024 blend has a great finish that makes you want to come back for more. Kind of like a visit to Tree Town! The Tree Town Blend is available at the Coffee Company on Plaza Drive, at the Deli, and at the Roadhouse!
