Miss Kim, a Korean restaurant, opened in 2016 as a proud part of the Zingerman’s Community of Businesses by chef and managing partner Ji Hye Kim. She’s a James Beard Award semifinalist twice over, for Outstanding Chef in 2022 and Best Chef in the Great Lakes region in 2020, and was featured on Food & Wine’s 2021 list of Best New Chefs. Her food is rooted in Korean tradition and adapted to the here and now—dishes are made from scratch from local ingredients whenever possible, and we work with local farmers to build a menu that changes seasonally. We encourage you to order a variety of dishes to share and enjoy. It’s our aim to provide a warm atmosphere with the same great service you’ve come to expect from the Zingerman’s family.

Opened in 1992, Zingerman’s Bakehouse brings traditionally baked breads and pastries to food lovers in Ann Arbor and across southern and central Michigan. We also reach Zingerman’s customers around the country through Zingerman’s Mail Order. The Bakehouse was founded by Frank Carollo and is now run by managing partners Amy Emberling (an original Bakehouse staffer) and Jaison Restrick. We have an onsite Bakeshop, which sells baked goods to retail customers as well as BAKE!, a teaching kitchen designed for home bakers of all different skill levels, from those who have never touched a measuring spoon in their life to those who feel pretty accomplished and want to learn more. Located Inside the cafe at Zingerman's Coffee Company. Since 2009, Zingerman’s Candy Manufactory has been creating delicious classic sweets by hand. Founder Charlie Frank spent 10 years dreaming up recipes for incredible tasting candy bars, nut brittles, sweet spiced nuts, marshmallows, seasonal specialties, and more! Fresh, scratch-made nougat, fudge, fondant, caramel, marshmallow, and more make our candy uniquely flavorful! Our confections are available at all Zingerman’s locations, including our own retail store inside the cafe at Zingerman’s Coffee Company, zingermans.com, and at specialty food and grocery stores around the country. Zingerman’s Catering and Events puts together the simply sensational for both small parties and large events. We’re serving everything from corned beef to caviar, charcuterie to champagne, party platters to wedding cakes from Zingerman’s Bakehouse. Our event planners will help you work out every detail, whether you’re putting together an intimate gathering or a party for 2,000. In addition to the dozens of off-site events we plan every year, Zingerman’s Catering hosts full-flavored festivities at our new location, the Greyline, in the historic bus depot space on Ashley St at the intersection of Huron St.

Zingerman’s Coffee Company was founded in 2003. Our goal is simple: to source and roast the great coffees of the world. The process of bringing our customers that simple cup involves a surprisingly intricate journey along with many people and relationships. We care about every facet of this journey, from the farmer to our customers. Our managing partner, Steve Mangigian, oversees the roasting process to ensure our beans yield their complex flavors, and our coffees are available at our Coffee Bar on Plaza Drive, Zingerman’s Deli Next Door Café, Zingerman’s Roadhouse, Zingerman’s Bakehouse, and at cafés and restaurants around the country. We also sell our coffees through Zingerman’s Mail Order.

Way back in 2001, Zingerman’s Creamery started making our Real Cream Cheese®, an enduring Ann Arbor favorite hailed by Cook’s Illustrated for “its full flavor and well-rounded balance between saltiness, tanginess, and creaminess.” We specialize in making cow’s and goat’s milk cheeses, gelato, sorbets, and much more for dairy lovers in Ann Arbor and across the country. We make all our products with the highest quality milk from equally dedicated, small-scale regional farmers. At our retail spot, the Cream Top Shop (located a scone’s throw from Zingerman’s Bakehouse), we feature our award-winning cheeses and gelato, as well as the best American farmhouse and artisanal cheeses we can find. We’re known for full-flavored, traditionally-made foods—from storied sandwiches and Jewish classics to seasonal side dishes and specialty food staples. As we say, “You really can taste the difference.” Throughout the decades, we’ve expanded our physical footprint, scope of operations, and staff. We’ve grown from a single 1000-square-foot historic storefront to a campus including the Next Door Café. We’ve launched Zingerman’s Catering & Events to bring “the Zingerman’s experience” beyond our doors; opened the Greyline, an event space in the heart of downtown; and introduced guided tastings in-store and virtually. Led by managing partners Grace Singleton, Rick Strutz, and Rodger Bowser, we employ a staff of over 200 (and were recognized by the James Beard Foundation Awards as a finalist in the Outstanding Service category). Paul Saginaw and Ari Weinzweig founded the Deli in 1982. Over the years, Zingerman’s—an Ann Arbor institution dubbed “the coolest small company in America” by Inc. magazine—has remained rooted in our local community while expanding to become a family of independently-owned food and service-focused businesses, known as the Zingerman’s Community of Businesses.

Acting as a concierge to the best local guides, cuisines, and experience, Food Tours hosts small group tours to international and stateside destinations, from Catalonia to Grand Traverse Bay. Greyline, Zingerman’s newest event space, is located in the heart of downtown Ann Arbor. The perfect venue for weddings, corporate events, meetings, training sessions, and a variety of social events, the Greyline can host up to 200 people and is operated exclusively by Zingerman’s Catering and Events. The exterior is lit up by the neon hues of the historic Ann Arbor bus depot sign while the interior design highlights the building’s Art Deco history—we’ve added our own modern flair to adapt to the diverse needs of our clients. The event space includes a full built-in bar, coat room, and amenities for guests.

Zingerman’s Next Door Cafe

Part of the Zingerman’s Delicatessen campus, the Zingerman’s Next Door Café, or simply, Next Door is, as you might have guessed, a cafe with additional seating and a building-wide mural. You’ll find beverages (like espresso drinks, specialty teas, and hot cocoa), breakfast items (like burritos, oatmeal, and noodle kugel), and baked goods from Zingerman’s Bakehouse (like pastries, pies, and cakes). The Next Door Café is also home to a sweet selection of handcrafted candy bars, truffles, toffees, lollipops, caramels, and more craft confections.

We write and publish our own books celebrating the lessons we’ve learned from doing business, as well as the foods we love to sell, and the stories of the foods’ histories and the artisans who make them. As we’ve done with our food for nearly four decades, we work to create books that are truly special both in content and in form, written and designed by us. Whether they are published as bound books, electronically, or made by hand by our in-house bookbinders, we hope that every Zingerman’s publication will be read with relish and shared with mustard for many years to come. The Roadhouse opened in 2003 with the vision of bringing really good American food to the community by using only the best available ingredients.
