For over thirty years, the folks at American Spoon in Petoskey, have elevated preserves beyond the supermarket variety that sits for months on the refrigerator door. Noah and his family use only fresh fruit and craft their preserves by hand to preserve the maximum amount of flavor from early glow strawberries, damson plums, sour cherries and more. New Pie at Zingerman’s Bakehouse – Chocolate Cream Pie!
Attention chocolate lovers: we have a new pie just for you! It’s a Chocolate crust and rich custard made with dark Belgian chocolate and Mindo chocolate from Dexter, MI. We top each hand-made pie with sweetened whipped cream made with heavy cream from our friends at Guernsey Farms Dairy in Northville, MI. Mmm, chocolate!
Chocolate Gelato Month at Zingerman’s Creamery and Next Door
The gelato case will be loaded up with chocolate some flavors ONLY available in February. Among our amazing choc-riffic flavors are such delights as Chocolate Balsamic Strawberry, Dark Chocolate, Dark Scharffen, Gianduja, Turtle, Rocky Ride, Chocolate Heat, Stone Ground and Smoked Dark Chocolate, and Chocolate Chip Sorbet. We’ve got you covered when the chocolate craving strikes!
February Roaster’s Pick at Zingerman’s Coffee Company
Java Sunda Hejo is truly handcrafted from the ancient land of Sunda (West Java). The coffee is dried on raised beds in bamboo greenhouses, which ensures stable drying and protects its unique sweetness and character. We have selected this microlot from the Chiwidey washing station. Historically, coffee was cultivated by the Dutch during the 16th century in the Guntur Mountain region, and the first exports were from the Sunda Kelapa port (now the modern day port of Tanjung Priok- Jakarta). Coffee from this region is grown by small farmers in the mountainous region around the beautiful city of Bandung. The hilly terrain does not allow for large plantations, hence the coffee is spread over a large region via small holdings. Java Sunda Hejo has a rich body that comes through with any filter methods. Press pots bring out brighter tobacco note and a slightly savory aspect. We like it in the press pot, Chemex, and Clever.
Hungarian Coffee House at Zingerman’s Next Door
Celebrate Hungarian cuisine and Zingerman’s Bakehouse’s passion for Hungarian pastry and dessert every Friday and Saturday evening from 5-10pm.
