Zingerman’s Food Tours takes you to a host of culinary treasures

Ready to go on an exceptionally special, more-likely-than-not life-changing trip? Taste incredible food and amazing artisan wine? Meet a wide range of remarkably welcoming people? Then take a few minutes to check out the itinerary for the two tours to Tuscany we lead every year! One goes in the spring, when you can see all the new plants and flowers coming into bloom—including some stunning wild greens that, I’ll say from experience, we will never get to eat here in the U.S. Or join the autumn tour, where you can be there to experience the harvest—both visually and culinarily. Either way, it’s gonna be an unforgettable trip!

Speaking of which, here are some of Zingerman’s Food Tours Managing Partner Kristie Brablec’s thoughts about Tuscany:

One of the reasons our Tuscany tours feel so personal is our longtime friend and partner Bernardo Conticelli. Born and raised in Florence, Bernardo has been welcoming Zingerman’s Food Tours guests to his home region for nearly two decades.

With Bernardo, Tuscany isn’t simply a destination you visit. It’s the place he calls home. He introduces us to the people behind the food, the traditions behind the recipes, and the stories that have shaped this remarkable region. Whether we’re sharing a meal in a family-run trattoria, tasting olive oil just after it’s been pressed, or wandering the streets of Florence, Bernardo helps us experience Tuscany through the eyes of someone who knows and loves it deeply.

That local connection is something we treasure. It’s what transforms a vacation into an experience and why so many of our guests return home feeling as though they’ve discovered the real Tuscany.

In 2027, we’re excited to offer two opportunities to join us in this remarkable region. Experience Tuscany in the spring, when wildflowers blanket the countryside and markets overflow with fresh produce, or join us in the fall, when the grape and olive harvests bring villages to life with festivals, rich flavors, and centuries-old traditions.

No matter which season you choose, you’ll experience Tuscany the way we believe it should be experienced: through its people, its food, and the relationships we’ve built over nearly 20 years.

Journalist Oriana Fallaci was born in Florence, 97 years ago last month, in the heart of Tuscany. By the time she was 12, she was active in the resistance against the fascist regime of Mussolini, and she would go on to devote much of her journalism career to reporting on autocrats who seized power, and supporting the people who pushed back against them.

Politics aside, Fallaci was a Florentine through and through, and she knew what she was talking about when she said,

Tuscany is a magical landscape where everything around is gentle, everything is ancient and new.

In that sense, it’s an ideal antidote to the current stresses of the 21st century—just one more really good reason to take Kristie and her crew up on this awesome culinary opportunity.
