Nonprofit Spotlight

Our August Nonprofit Spotlight is on MCHS!

MCHS Family of Services provides individualized treatment, care, advocacy, and permanency to children and families impacted by childhood trauma.

At MCHS, they believe every child deserves safety, stability, and a chance to thrive – no matter their circumstances.

MCHS is a place of healing and hope for children, families, and older adults. Many of the individuals they serve have experienced severe trauma, instability, or separation from their families – and through their programs, they’re given the tools, support, and care needed to move forward.

Whether through foster care, residential treatment, transitional housing, education, or mental health services – their team walks alongside each person they serve with compassion, consistency, and respect.

They want the community to see MCHS not just as a service provider, but as a lifeline and a long-term partner in helping people build stronger, healthier futures.

Most individuals are referred to MCHS through schools, healthcare providers, courts, state agencies, or other community organizations. For more information, visit their website at mchsmi.org.

Supporting

There are so many meaningful ways to support MCHS and the children, families, and older adults they serve. Community members can make a difference by:

Donating to help fund critical programs and provide essentials like clothing, hygiene kits, and school supplies.

Volunteering your time—whether it’s helping beautify their campus, mentoring youth, or supporting special events.

Becoming a foster parent or learning more about adoption—opening your heart and home can change a child’s life forever.

Attending their events, like the Light the Way Gala, to learn more about their work and directly support their mission.

Spreading the word—sharing their stories, needs, and successes helps them build awareness and reach more people who care.

Simply learning more about the challenges their youth and families face—and how they’re working to support them—can be a powerful first step.

Every act of support, big or small, helps them create safe, stable, and hopeful futures for those who need it most.
