Our March Nonprofit Spotlight is on House N2 Home
House N2 Home (HN2H) is an organization from southeast Michigan who is helping to provide furnishings for people in our local region who are moving from unhoused situations and into rental housing. They began in 2017 as a small group of friends working together to furnish a home for one single mom and her children.
Inspired by that experience and by the need in our community, within a couple of years they became a fully fledged nonprofit and they have grown to host over two hundred volunteers. HN2H has now completely furnished nearly 2000 homes for individuals and families totaling approximately 4000 people transitioning from homelessness in Washtenaw County.

Zingerman's Mail Order Warehouse Shop Fundraiser

Our Zingerman's Mail Order Warehouse Shop will be donating EVERY PENNY of sales from their in-person shop at 710 Phoenix Drive in Ann Arbor on Friday, March 20th, 2026 to House N2 Home! It's the perfect day to come shop til you drop, stock up for Springtime holidays and treats, and find some great deals at this hidden gem retail space. You'll find everything from candy to olive oils, soaps to noodles, cheese to coffee cakes, and everything in between! There's Zingerman's products and some of our favorites from locally and around the world. So if you haven't checked out the ZMO Warehouse Shop yet or if you're already a big fan, March 20th is the day to shop for a great cause!
Welcome Home - HN2H's 3rd Annual Fundraising Event

Hosted at the Valley at Frutig Farm, this 3rd annual event will feature a strolling dinner, silent auction, and celebration of the accomplishments of the outstanding team at HN2H, as well as helping them advance towards a future of achieving even more! They are still accepting sponsors and supporters for the event. Tickets available online soon.
Resources Provided
Along with the help of caseworkers from over 50 partnering local agencies working in this field such as Alpha House or Avalon Housing, HN2H connects with these individuals and families preparing to move into secured housing, offering their services.
They meet with the clients to figure out their household needs and desires, then pull from their expansive storage facility of mostly donated items ensuring that everyone gets what they require, striving to fulfill all their hopes and dreams for their space.
The HN2H volunteers then work to move-in all the furniture, make the beds, hang shower curtains, stack plates in the cupboards, fold towels, hang art on the walls, and create an inviting and unique space that feels like a true home!

If you'd love to help to further this mission, there's lots of ways to help through volunteering! This organization relies on the many dedicated volunteers who have been the heart and soul of this work, but as they grow, they can always use more hands on deck!
Whether you're interested in organizing donations, refurbishing furniture, working with clients, cooking or baking for clients, thrifting items, or getting in a great workout by assisting during a move-in day or by picking up donations, you can be a great help!
While they can certainly utilize strength and craftiness, they're happy to find tasks for just about anyone looking to contribute!

HN2H works hard to make sure furniture and household items avoid the landfill, but they also know their clients, like anyone, deserve great quality products. HN2H is happy to accept furniture donations and other household items through either pickups within 30 minutes of their facility and within Washtenaw County, or by scheduled drop offs at their location.
They also accept new items of course, and even have an Amazon wishlist if you'd like to choose particular items they may need.

Items they accept can range from all types of furniture, to glassware or dishes, decor, toys, games, bathroom accessories, kitchen gadgets and linens, cleaning supplies, and much, much more.

Why Zing Loves HN2H
Watching House N2 Home grow into this extensive organization in such a relatively short time, accomplishing so much for so many people, it's truly remarkable. Not only is a depth of care and profound sense of humanity plainly evident from the entire crew at HN2H, but their mission is one that just makes perfect sense. They're fulfilling a need that many people may not consider if they haven't found themselves in such circumstances, but for those experiencing the emotional highs and lows of transitioning from being unhoused to a new place that they are able to call their own, having this support to take it from a blank slate to a place that they can feel proud of and relaxed in, well that's priceless. It's impressive the energy it takes to make all of that happen, and we admire HN2H for truly empowering thousands of people through their passionate work.
