January's Nonprofit Spotlight is on Lost Voices!
Lost Voices helps kids who are survivors of trauma find hope and healing through the power of music. They envision a world where all kids feel valued, recognize their self-worth, and grow up confident, caring and connected.
Lost Voices provides expressive songwriting programs for children who have experienced trauma. They create a safe space where the children channel their feelings into words, turn those words into songs, then are supported in a professionally-staged performance. The children also receive a recording of the concert. Their traditional program is a five-day series of two-hour songwriting sessions, building anticipation toward a professional concert on day five where the children perform their work. During the sessions, they write a collaborative group song in which every element is agreed upon by the entire group. They also work with each individual to craft their own song or piece.
Lost Voices works with children anywhere from four to twenty years of age in residential care, after school programs, bereavement retreats, and detention facilities or other adjudicated settings. They pride themselves in using the best practices in Trauma-Informed Care and fostering an inclusive environment for children of all abilities and backgrounds.

St. Paddy's Day Celebration featuring Kitty Donohoe

Lost Voices will have a St. Paddy's Day Celebration featuring Kitty Donohoe on Saturday, March 22 at 7pm in the Jack Wilcox Theater at PARC 650 Church Street in Plymouth MI. They will have beer, wine, and Zingerman's sandwiches for sale! Proceeds benefit Lost Voices. Ticket link coming soon, check website for details.
