Nonprofit Spotlight
Our House’s Mission & Vision: To provide the resources, support, and guidance necessary to empower youth who have experienced foster care or similar circumstances to thrive. A community where youth have access to a supportive safety net, empowering them to achieve independence and success.

Our House believes that no young person should have to navigate adulthood alone. They are a Washtenaw County-based mission-driven organization dedicated to empowering youth and young adults with experience in foster care and similar circumstances as they transition into independent adulthood.
Through mentoring, housing support, life skills education, and community engagement, they work with young people to help them build independence, confidence, and meaningful support systems. They prioritize continuity of care and connection, helping young people access the resources, services, and relationships they need—not only within Our House, but throughout the broader community.
At the heart of their work is the belief that young people are strongest when they have a community supporting them. “We believe in the power of we—that by working together, we can help young people build the foundation for a healthy, independent, and fulfilling future.”

Why Zing Loves Our House
Branching out into adulthood is an intimidating time for any young adult, so it's crucial to have a great support system. The most successful start is one that begins with community and security. The youth that have gone through foster care or similar circumstances often have far more hurdles to get over and fewer resources to launch them into independence. We admire the work that Our House is doing to improve the lives and futures of countless young people in this pivotal life step.
