Nonprofit Spotlight
Mission: “To provide the best possible care to our patients and community, including people whose economic, social or cultural conditions might otherwise prevent them from accessing health care.”
Packard Health delivers compassionate, comprehensive primary and mental health care to everyone in our community—regardless of their ability to pay. Since their founding in 1973, they have grown to include three main locations across Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti. In addition, they offer care at satellite sites including the Delonis Center, Avalon Housing communities, and within the West Willow neighborhood—bringing essential services directly to where their patients live.
They care for the whole person. In addition to medical and mental health services, they offer substance use disorder treatment, an on-site pharmacy, transportation assistance, a food pantry, and help with insurance enrollment—removing barriers and meeting people’s needs beyond the exam room.
Resources
For their patients, they provide primary care, mental health services, and substance use disorder treatment, and they work to remove barriers to care by helping patients get to their appointments, enroll in health insurance, and access the medications and medical equipment they need.
They also support wellness beyond the clinic walls. For their patients and the broader community, they offer three food pantries—stocked in partnership with Food Gatherers—and the seasonal Fresh-a-Sprout Market, where free fresh produce is available to all. How to best support
Financial gifts make their mission work possible. Make a contribution online at https://packardhealth.org/donate/
You can also support by spreading the word about their work. Not only is it great to potentially find other people to contribute to the cause, but you also never know who could need these resources that might not be aware they're available.
Why Zing Love Packard Health
Despite Washtenaw County being a rather prosperous community for many residents, there's a growing number of citizens that have struggled in recent economic shifts and countless people who have felt they had to make troubling and life-threatening decisions with their healthcare because of a lack of coverage, funding, or access. No one should fear that their lives will be ruined financially simply for trying to stay alive and healthy. A community that can lift each other up is one that will flourish together, so we're honored to partner with Packard Health and support their mission to ensure that everyone around us has their health needs met.
