Mail Order is Hiring for the Holidays!

Choose a Job That Lets You Be a Change Agent

“My favorite part about working at Zingerman’s Mail Order (besides the employee discount!) is probably the fact that I get to make improvements… or at least that the bosses expect that from us. I like that.” —Cathy Beal, Warehouse Coach

“I appreciate the fun times in the kitchen and trying new recipes. I was surprised it was more casual in the kitchen as opposed to a strict, serious kitchen, which is more common. But here we’re expected to have input and ideas. For instance, we’ve switched over entire lunch plans because we thought we could do it better, and our ideas won out. They ask us what we think we should do, and they follow our ideas. That’s cool.” —Jahi Hawkins, Kitchen Staff

Zingerman’s Mail Order (ZMO) is hiring for the holidays, and we need more folks like Cathy and Jahi!

We’re looking for help with answering phones, cutting cheese, driving forklifts, packing boxes, cleaning, cooking employee meals, and so much more!

Sound intriguing?

Shifts are available now and run through the end of December. And there are tons of perks: paid training, paid breaks, free meals, discounted shopping at Zingerman’s and other local businesses, plus lots of tastes, learnings, and terrific teammates! Plus, if you’ve ever dreamt of a career at Zingerman’s, this is a good place to start:  99% of our full-time employees started as seasonal help for the holidays!

Cathy has worked at ZMO for nine holidays (we track time in holidays here rather than years). She was already planning to move to Ann Arbor back in 2017, after she retired from shipbuilding (yes, really) in Newport News, Virginia. When she saw a sign saying, “We’re hiring for the holidays,” Cathy took it as an actual sign and moved here six months early just so she could work at Mail Order for the holidays! She started as a part-time holiday staffer and is now full-time. (See?! Proving our point!) When she’s not at work, you can often find Cathy volunteering or making art—she’s partial to textiles, but dabbles in multiple mediums.

Jahi has worked at ZMO for four holidays and loves the rush of the holiday season. He’s a master of making coleslaw, Russian dressing, spiced pecans, and so much more. When Jahi’s not at work, you’ll likely find him at school or… cooking! He’s always wanted to work in kitchens, and cooking is one of his favorite creative outlets.
