Maker Works, Ann Arbor’s makerspace, established in 2011, is hosting their second, bi-annual Operations Bootcamp this fall. Any owner, manager, or staff that is currently or expecting to be operating a makerspace, hackerspace, FabLab, or any other shared fabrication facility will gain valuable insight into what it takes to create a successful space.

The bootcamp focuses on teaching future makerspace owners the fundamental systems necessary to make your space a success. This five day bootcamp runs from 9am to 5pm from October 3rd to October 7th. See the itinerary here.

Praise from past attendees:

I finished the week with a list of great things I can implement right away, and the context and support network to do it successfully.

I am walking away from bootcamp with examples for just about every procedure/system Maker Works uses and tools to create and implement my own. I feel empowered to run my makerspace.

This bootcamp is essential to understanding what it takes to build and sustain a makerspace.

Maker Works founder Tom Root is Managing Partner of Zingerman’s Mail Order.
